With Anthony Keidis' new 'stache in full bloom, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have reloaded and are ready to push forward and remain relevant. If you were tired of hearing "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" three times a day on the radio everyday, then salvation has arrived in the form of the inky Raymond Pettibon inspired video for "Monarchy Of Roses". Pettibon, most famous for his work on Black Flag album covers, has been experiencing a renewed appreciation of his art, having done covers recently for punk-supergroup OFF!, the Foo Fighters, and Crystal Antlers, along with some new gallery exhibitions. It's likely that since 30 years (!!) have passed since the Chili Peppers hit the scene, they're paying homage to one of their original California influences.
Other noticeable changes in the band's arsenal include their artsy-new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer (formerly of LA indie-poppers Warpaint), and Flea's new specs!
Check out the really fantastic video above, directed by Mark Klasfeld, and then check it out again. I'm With You, the band's tenth studio album, is out now.
