When Cults' Madeline Follin gets on stage, it's like the lights go down instantly, even when she's playing to a sweaty, sun-drenched festival crowd. She sways just a little--not too much to be a dance, quite, but enough that you can't help but move along with her. The sway gets a little heavier whenever the band plays their slow-burning, big time ballad "You Know What I Mean." The song has a junior-high slow-dance beginning, like a tune you would dance arms-length away from your crush to, leading up to a crescendo halfway between a cry and a shout. The band played it for us at Bedrock Studios in Los Angeles, so you can get up close to that special signature swing and sway in the video below.
