Parlovr Premieres New Album 'Kook Soul'
Parlovr, the Montreal trio who've scored rave reviews from the likes of Spin and Stereogum, have returned with a new album, Kook Soul, and its loaded with love and rock n' roll. These twelve tracks explore the inner-workings of relationships, and all the varied ups and downs there-in. You'll find building angst and heart-bursting emotion on "Holding on to Something", lovelorn ponderings and hints of nostalgia on "You Only Want It 'Cause You're Lonely", and love-riddled joy on the 50s inspired "Amaze-Me-Jane". Instrumentally, this one's an indie-centric extension of classic rock n' roll, fused with the best of surf rock, soul, and vintage pop. The whole thing is a sweeping tribute to the past, as remembered by a trio well versed in modernity.
