Like many meticulous bands before them, Raccoon Fighter knows how important a sophomore album can be for their career. Following the release of their debut ZIL that was lauded by many and earned them two placements on Showtime's Shameless, the trio knew they had to come back even stronger with an even better record. They succeeded. Spiral Flag showcased a razor sharp focus, proving that the Queens-natives are continuing to push their sound forward. Today, we're premiering the video for "Mr. Cool" from that album. Following the main character on a day-in-the-life journey through New York, the song's laid back vibes and grooves reflect the feel of the video.
"I was taking a shower when the idea hit me and I thought it'd be fun to shoot a video on my iPhone," says guitarist/vocalist/video director Sean Gavigan. "Neither one of us had any expectations, so we just had fun with it. He got a ticket for drinking in the park while filming the waterfront scene. He had one sip and was stung immediately after. The cop was cool and let him finish the 24oz, while he wrote the $25 ticket."
Raccoon Fighter's Spiral Flag was released in July via PaperCup Music.
