If you don't recognize the name of RG Lowe – don't fret. The artist also known as Rob Lowe whose work you may be subtly familiar from scoring the TV show Rectify amongst others. Now, he has a solo album out today that captures the various sounds he's been cooking up at his Austin studio, before heading to Philadelphia to record the album. Playing keys, guitar, and of course, singing, Lowe showcases his vast talents as a composer and he glides through different genres – notably rock, R&B and elements of soul — to create a concise nine-track album.
"I wrote these songs over two years, recorded them over the next, and spent the following one cleaning them up," he says. "I used the process to learn a new way of writing music and in the end, the music I made ended up teaching me a lot about myself. 'Slow Time' helped me work my way through a difficult few years."
RG Lowe's Slow Time is out now on Western Vinyl.
