Hailing from Fort Wayne, IN, Grey Gordon
has been performing as a solo act since 2011. In the years that have followed, the heavily tattooed musician has released four EPs (including a split with Fake Problems
' Chris Farren) and is now gearing up to drop his debut full-length, Forget I Brought It Up.
The vegan/straight edge singer-songwriter identifies most with the emo movement of the '90s and cites acts like Superchunk
, Kind of Like Spitting
and Elliott Smith
as his main influences. Today, we're excited to premiere the latest offering from his upcoming LP. Stream "Revelation Summer" above. "Sometimes, the idea of being a professional musician seems utterly absurd," Gordon admits. "Anyone who pursues that path knows this. There's a certain loss of innocence that comes with the territory, and that's what this song addresses. It's essentially me trying my best to articulate the constant question that nags at my subconscious: What the hell am I supposed to do if this doesn't work out?"
Forget I Brought It Up
is slated for a September 2 release via No Sleep Records. You can pre-order both physical and digital copies through the label's official website
