Frances & the Foundation have been quietly at work on their debut album for the better part of the past year. It's finally go time. Led by Samantha Frances, the band's sound has been marked by heavy riffs, a punky sound reminiscent of '90s alt rock and the singer's brooding vocals. It shouldn't come as a surprise that some of the major lyrical themes of the album revolve around these trying times and how to make things better.
“I’m talking to myself in songs a lot of the time, usually sorting out how I feel about something going on in life, or how I feel about society.” Frances says. "Nothing is perfect. There is so much beauty in our flaws. Everything is fine. The world goes round regardless of our beliefs, opinions, or judgments. What a relief we don’t have to have it all figured out."
Frances & the Foundation's Nothing Is Perfect, Everything Is Fine is out June 2.
