My Morning Jacket's Jim James Remixes alt-J's "Fitzpleasure"
UK indie outfit alt-J have joined forces with My Morning Jacket's Jim James to remix their latest single, "Fitzpleasure." James' interest in the band was instantaneous, as he recalled to Spin earlier in the month. "I saw [alt-J] play in Germany at one of the festivals we played. When I saw them, it kind of gave me this good, foreboding feeling. It was like seeing one of the great bands very young." Perhaps that foreboding feeling was alluding to his eventual remix of their track? We'll never know, but what we do know, is that this remix is superb. Careful not to blur alt-J's initial vision, James has merely re-shaped it to feature drawn out sounds, industrial undertones, and layers of atmospheric reverb.
