Meet the Top 5 Finalists from Mello Yello's One-Track Find Competition

Back in March, Mello Yello hit Austin, TX to launch their One-Track find competition — a search for the next big thing to hit the music scene. Their mission? Collect 50 of the most promising rising stars, launch videos of their work on Mello Yello's Facebook YouTube, and have fans vote for their favorite performers to whittle that number down to 5 finalists. From there, one grand prize winner will receive a cool cash prize of $25K!

Those 5 finalists have now been chosen, and it just so happens, these up-and-comers are rocking their own PV profiles. We've compiled them here, along with a quick line about their sound, so you'll have no trouble getting to know them. Once you've read their profiles, you can continue on to Mello Yello's Facebook where you can watch exclusive videos of each artist performing an original tune. It doesn't stop there, though. These artists need your help! Over the next few weeks, the competition will be opening up the voting polls to fans, and you can cast yours by heading to Mello Yello's Facebook and clicking the "Vote & Win" logo. Just by voting, you're also putting yourself in the running for awesome prizes like an ipod touch. Check out the finalists and make sure your favorite comes out victorious!

The Cascade Sun:

Hailing from Minot, ND, this quintet dish out melodic alt-rock with pop undertones. These boys know when it's time to jam out and when it's time to scale things back, and they do both with ease and visible passion.

Jonah Price:

This Tennessee solo act is all about the acoustic rock. With vocals that are both earthy and gravelly, Price's folk-forward guitar work is the perfect compliment to his simple yet distinct brand of music.

NOMaD:

These Pennsylvania natives wail out a hearty sound that's a little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll. We're talking fiddles and guitars, banjos and non-stop percussion, all accompanied by down-and-dirty vocal parts that will leave you thinking their southern made through and through.

Casey Jane:

Another Pennsylvania native baring alt-country influences, Casey Jane's spinning out thoughtful folk melodies with quiet acoustics to match. With a voice that floats dreamily above intricate guitar parts, this is music for the Nashville girl with stars in her eyes.

Nemes:

These Boston Boys are blending a plethora of influences to create a sound that's mixing blues, rock, and punk. In any given number, they're just as likely to crank out a piercing blues guitar riff as they are to join forces for a punk-forward chorus part. And you can be sure they're doing it all with incredible energy.
