Debuting exclusively on PureVolume today is Darling Parade's acoustic take on their track "Crash & Burn."
The track is from the Nashville pop rockers' upcoming Deluxe Edition of their Battle Scars and Broken Hearts
“We felt like ‘Crash & Burn’ was our most dynamic song, and it’s the next song in our music video series so it seemed natural to give it the acoustic treatment," vocalist/guitarist Kristin Kearns explains. "We ended up using a marching bass and dropping some chains to create the rhythm, so it was a really fun process.”
2013 has been a busy year for the up-and coming quartet, with the release of their debut in April and relentless touring with the likes of Cassadee Pope, Hot Chelle Rae, and others. As Kearns referenced, they're also producing a series of "action music videos" spotlighting tracks from Battle Scars and Broken Hearts
. The band unleashed "Ghost"
in April, with the "Crash & Burn" video next in line.
“I get to transform from this helpless character in our last video for 'Ghost' to a vigilante in 'Crash & Burn,'" says Kearns. "I spent tons of time working out fight choreography with the help of an MMA fighter. I left a lot of bruises and ended up with several as well. It was a first for me, and it will certainly be something new for our fans." Battle Scars and Broken Hearts (Deluxe Edition)
is out December 3 via Page 2 Music, featuring all 11 original songs from the album, plus four remixes and three acoustic tracks. It is available for pre-order now on iTunes
