The Black Lips have revised the dates of their previously announced Middle Eastern tour, announcing a new route that includes a stop at Cairo's El Sawy Culturewheel for International Peace Day on September 21. The groundbreaking show will see the band performing alongside Lebanese rockers Lazzy Lung and Egyptian punk outfits Faking It and 050 Band. "We want to play everywhere on the planet, and the opportunity came up. We couldn't say no," says bassist and vocalist Jared Swilley. "Anywhere that we haven't been excites us. Not many western bands have toured the region and to be one of the first is amazing. Adventures are the best."
Along for the ride will be VICE's music channel
Noisey, who will document the tour, and Sirius XM, who plan to broadcast the one of the shows on its
SiriusXMU channel at a later date. Check out the newly-added dates below and head here for more information regarding the tour.
