Bassnectar Collaborates with Deftones' Chino Moreno for New Song "Hexes"
Here's a collaboration for the music history books — EDM star Bassnectar has joined forces with Deftones' Chino Moreno for a new song, "Hexes." The track has been commissioned for the Resident Evil: Retribution soundtrack, and will close out the movie as the exclusive end credit song. "I wanted to make a beat that dropped like a wall of bricks to knock people back in their seats at the movie's sudden & dramatic end," says Bassnectar. "Chino put together the lyrics in a poem that felt like a slow motion dream, and somehow the two sensations works in tandem: falling backwards in a dream while getting blown back by a wobbling wall of sound." The soundtrack officially drops today [September 11] and is available via iTunes. Stream "Hexes" here and be sure to catch the full movie when it hits theatres September 14.
