has launched a new website
, so as to consolidate all of his musical and personal projects under one (very organized) domain. Now, fans of both the musician's projects — Jack's Mannequin
and the now defunct Something Corporate
— can access information, buy links, music, and more in one fell swoop. Fans can also read up on McMahon's work with his Dear Jack Foundation
, peek his personal photos and musings, and continue to follow his ongoing journey to spread music and inspiration in whatever form he next chooses to express it in.
"Upon the completion of my last album [2011's People and Things
] I began to sense a new time was close at hand; one that would require an availability to change, exploration into new forms of self expression and a commitment to creating constantly and without consideration for the potential windfalls of that process’ success," Mcmahon wrote. "With this in mind I will now operate centrally from this website and with as few layers if any between myself and what is posted here. The goal is to use this space to share experiences via art with those who wish to visit."
And if you're hoping new music will soon surface here, you might be in luck. "Today I went searching for a track I recently recorded. My intention was to have it mixed and posted on the site as soon as possible. All this worry circulating about the status of my music making could be so easily assuaged if only I were a bit more organized," he wrote. "As luck would not have it, the drive has gone missing. Not to worry though, if I can’t track it down in the next week or two I will bite the bullet and do what I have never, let you hear something less polished than I prefer. (a rough mix)."
