Summer may be fading fast, but that carefree feeling of warm nights and youthful bliss remains firmly rooted in A Rocket To The Moon's new single, "Whole Lotta You." With its breezy pop melodies, jangling acoustics and hook-laden harmonies, it effortlessly captures that spark-inducing feeling that comes with getting drunk off love and one cheap beer too many.
"We wanted to write a different kind of love song. We also wanted to write a different kind of summer song. 'Whole Lotta You' is about having a good time, going out to a bar with your friends and falling in love with someone across the bar," says frontman Nick Santino. "It's almost a tongue-in-cheek, desperate drunken love song. This angle was a lot of fun to write. We've written about love and we've written about going out to a bar, but we've never written about what really happens when two people have a little TOO much 'inspiration' at said bar (laughs). I think it's a good, relatable summer song that people will find themselves humming along to for a while."
Whether you want to admit it or not, these boys have struck on the most relatable of grounds, and we're willing to bet this one will be stuck in your head long after fall creeps in and summer love fades.
"Whole Lotta You" comes off the bands forthcoming sophomore album, Wild & Free, out on Fueled By Ramen. Stream it now, grab it when it drops digitally on August 21, and be on the lookout for the track's music video which is soon to follow.
