Steve Salazar was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he currently attends the University of St. Thomas. Steve fell in love with music at a very young age, however, did not start playing guitar until he was 15 years old. He started off as a fan of the electric guitar solos of Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, however soon found that his heart was calling him elsewhere. The acoustic guitar became his instrument of choice as he began composing his first songs. Creating music quickly changed from a hobby to his true passion. Steve, now 19 years old, usually writes his own music and lyrics, however, he occasionally covers songs of other artists that he admires, like The Maine, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Stereo Skyline. If asked to describe his style of music, Steve would say that it is a unique blend of acoustic guitar and vocals resembling artists such as John Mayer, Matt Wertz, Jack Johnson and Dashboard Confessional. Recently Steve has played shows with some big artists: Ryan Cabrera, Sing it Loud, and Jamestown Story, to name a few. He has recorded 3 EPs which are currently on iTunes, received over 1,000,000 plays on MySpace and has over 80,000 loving fans. Outside of music, Steve enjoys playing video games (especially Halo 3), practicing basketball, golf and baseball, as well as visiting his friends and family. In the future, Steve will be touring different areas of the United States, recording a full-length CD and creating personal relationships with his loyal fans. Steve lives by one simple statement, and hopes that all of you will live by it too. DO WHAT YOU LOVE.
