Its as if the Infantry has, through only one song, prepared you for their storm, and then stuck you in the middle of it. Harmoniummusic.com May 2006

The Infantrys latest effort has all the makings of an indie/underground hit with the accessibility for mainstream success. No matter your taste in music, a great song is a great song is a great song, and Sex Without Love has more than a couple of them. (4.95/5) -- Kingsofar.com - March 2006

Nathan Asher is the next great American songwriter. He is the first lyrical inheritor to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. -- Weirdearsmag.com - February, 2006.

Sex Without Love is one of the most impressive albums to come out from the independent league of acts for a long time. NeuFutur.com -- March 2006

My Generation can now proudly add Nathan Asher & The Infantry as our contribution to the encyclopedia of musical genius. -- Altsounds.com March, 2006

The Infantry--six-piece and explosive--sounds like a legendary hammer, bearing down and browbeating with volume. -- The Independent Weekly - October 2005

Nathan Asher and the Infantry didnt expect to receive such a recent explosion of praise. They didnt expect to win the 2005 John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for their song, Turn Up the Faders, or land in the finals for the International Songwriting Competition (the contest that the New York times call The Songwriting Contest to take note of.) They didnt expect the Independent Weekly Newspaper, the same newspaper that first pushed for Ben Folds Five, to nominate them for Best Rock Band, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Album, in their upcoming year end Music Awards.

They didnt expect a lot of things. All they set out to do is make great music, both lyrically and instrumentally. Now, with critical acclaim, a widely expanding fan-base, and a self released sophomore album that has sold over 2,500 copies in North Carolina alone, the band is in more demand than ever in 2006.

This year started off with a show at NAMM in Los Angeles, selling out The Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, a show with Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos (Artemis Records) in Charlotte, and a show with Better than Ezra in Raleigh, NC. The band moved onto a showcase spot at the prestigious NXNE music festival in Toronto, and is scheduled to play with national acts like The Walkmen, ZOX, and more.

Quick Facts:
- Drawing over 350 in North Carolina
- Sophomore Album, Sex Without Love, has sold over 2,500 CDs in North Carolina alone.
- Winner of the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest (Lennon Award Winners).
- Winner of the Great American Songwriting Competition.
- Awarded Best Rock Band and nominated for Best Rock Album and Best Rrock Song in the Independent Weeklys Music Awards.
- Receiving regular airplay on WKNC in Raleigh, NC, WXYC in Chapel Hill, NC, and WRQR in Wilmington, NC.
