Members: Forrest, Dane, Danny, Daley
Since its formation in late 2004, Narwhal has always been about high energy live shows and rock music. The four band members: lead vocals/guitar Forrest Devitt, lead guitarist Daley Hake, bassist Dane Gaffney and drummer Danny Quesada wrote new material and played live shows anywhere they could on the west coast.
The band was ushered into the studio to record three new tracks produced by Trevor Keith, lead singer/producer of the band Face to Face, and Chad Blinman, engineer of The Get Up Kids (Something To Write Home About). The tracks were re-mixed and re-mastered in the newly opened recording studio at The Palms by Chris Fudurich (Jimmy Eat World..s Stay on My Side Tonight). On February 4, 2006, under their new name Narwhal, they released their first self-titled EP.
After a stellar live performance at the nationally televised 2006 Burton U.S. Open of Snowboarding in Vermont, Narwhal has shared the stage with artists such as Hot Hot Heat, Hoobastank, Yellowcard, Mae, Switchfoot, and INXS. They kicked off the summer on the Lions, Tigers, and Bears tour with Bayside, Halifax and The Sleeping. Then they toured 2 weeks on the west coast dates of the Vans Warped Tour. They ended the summer on a high note, opening for Yellowcard and Matchbook Romance. Narwhal is currently writing and recording for their upcoming full-length debut album on Maloof Music/Interscope Records, slated for release in the summer of 2007. They just returned from working with Jerry Finn (AFI,+44) at the Studio at the Palms in Las Vegas.
