My Thesis Restated

was originally formed in December of 2005 intending to perform in their high school's Battle of the Bands competition. During that time though, they were jamming under the name 'Vacant', a product of the first lead singer, Savio Chris. Each band member was approached individually by Chris and asked if they were interested in joining a group he was trying to put together featuring himself on vocals. Upon speaking to various instrumentalists Chris was able to recruit 4 other guys to play. Including Kevin Cherry and Stefan Gojkovic on lead and rhythm guitars, respectively, Andrew Thomas on bass and Austin Henderson playing drums, the group met with hopes of creating some original and new music of their own. After eventually reaching their goal and performing in their school's Battle of the Bands sometime in early 2006, they disbanded due to complications between members. Vacant went on a temporary hiatus until late May 2006 when the group revived itself and a new lead singer stepped into the spotlight. Exit Chris. Enter Pham. Dan Pham to be exact. The new vocalist introduced new lyrics and a new style to the group, and so Vacant was born again as a new entity, My Thesis Restated, a pop-punk/rock fivesome from Mississauga, Ontario.

With high hopes for something new and better than before the group met on several occasions and instantly clicked. They were able to develop some original material in just a few sessions together and the future looked bright for these five hopefuls from Mississauga. Little did they know that lightning would strike again with a major change. Once again, due to interests and complications between members, rhythm guitarist and close friend Stefan Gojkovic was asked to leave the band. Many would have thought that such a line-up change would leave the band crippled. They managed to press on and were able to come out on top with new songs. Writing quickly, in preparation for the summer and hopefully, some shows to get their name out there.

And that brings us to the present. Still together, a few months after being born-again, My Thesis Restated is going strong practicing several times a week. With a set of songs already completed and new works coming out all the time, the future looks bright once again for these four punks from Mississauga. You never know what might happen next...
