MY ROCKET HEART is a pop rock band from Tampa, FL. Their influences include Elvis Costello, The Wallflowers, Weezer, Bleach, Relient K, Ben Folds, and more.

When we set out to make our new record, we wanted to create an album that reflected the intensity of our live performances in a way that our previous albums had not. To accomplish this, "Hang Ups and Let Downs" was recorded LIVE in one day (for the most part) @ Morrisound Studios in Tampa, FL on September the 3rd, 2005. Brian Jones sang and played guitar, Rich Tiemann played guitar and did a little singing, Steve Schuetz played bass guitar and Terry Platt played the drums. Our good friend, Chris Thomas, sang some for us on "Jesus." The record was mixed by Tommy and Terry Platt and mastered by Jim Morris. You hold in your hands, the fruit of our collective labor. Please take in this album with the stereo cranked and the windows rolled down. We hope you enjoy listening to the songs as much as we enjoyed recording them.
