MUTAR

Metal / Metalcore / Metal

It was summer of 2005 when Adrian and Cristian Contreras decided to part ways with their old band SIC and create a more serious project, influenced by Machine head, Lamb of God, Pantera, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, At the Gates, Pissing Razors, Messhugah, Nothingface and Strapping Young Lad among others.
At that time, after desperately seeking a bassist, they met Berna Riquelme(former Gualicho , The Project.), who also wanted to take part of an original and serious project.
Still nameless, the band started writing some material ranging from death metal and metal-core to hardcore and even to punk. To put it another way, they would not limit themselves to only one style. Instead, the would play a crossover of many musical schools. At that time the band started auditioning singers :Pablo (ex Gualicho), Cordoba (Indistintos), and Roma, among others, did not get the job due to several different reasons. However, in January of 2006, Marcos Coral became the new singer of the band. The band seemed to be working well with the new singer, however, in march 2006, Marcos decided to leave the band, due to personal reasons.
This state of affairs led the band to feel tired of being dependent on a singer, so they decided on the destiny of the vocal parts: Adrian and Berna would take over and be in charge of the vocals, giving shape to a three-member power band.
In august that year, the band got their first live gig. The concert took place in the Simbiotica Rock fest in Neuquen. The band was warmly accepted, despite the fact that Mutar had some technical trouble. Since that day Mutar started performing live gigs, sharing stages with bands such as P.O.G.O.,Eskulapio, Ruido Explicito, No Maniobrar, Mitosis, Klave Morse, P.c.d.o., and Indistintos. In October they shared stage with Buenos Aires- based band Ban This, in a gig organized by The Freak Fest (Cinco Saltos,Rio Negro).
The freak fest was organized in order to give a new lease of life to hardcore-punk scene of the area. The organization was in charge of four people : Cristian and Adrian from Mutar and Santiago and Matias from No Maniobrar plus a huge number of people that supported the Freak Fest.
In February 2007, Mutar was invited to the Patagonia Unida Fest (Metal, Hardcore and Punk fest) that took place in Puerto Madryn City (Chubut), organized by the band Disfrazados en Dominio, band they would meet again in april , in the fifth edition of the Freak fest in Cinco Saltos city. This time, another fellow band took part : Sincope, from Buenos Aires. Out of this fest, a DVD was recorded, showing the highlights of that unforgettable night.
At the moment, Mutar is writing new material for their first demo release, Colisin de Almas, highly influenced by Metal-core; aggressive guitar riffs contrasted with melodic sections that create the unique sound of Mutar.
