Formed a little over one year ago, this eclectic and lively trio merged right into the Tucson music scene and seemingly took it over. Talent like this doesnt stay a secret for long. What takes most bands years to achieved seemingly occurred overnight for Mostly Bears. They scored a record deal, signed with booking agency Lost Barrio Artists, began to chart on college radio with an E.P. and served as the supporting band for indie rockers And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead.

People cant get enough of their swirling sound; the controlled but chaotic guitar riffs, solid drumming, perfect bass lines, and a voice that has been described as haunting, unusual, velvet toned, and falsetto perfected. And it probably doesnt hurt that they could pass for Marc Jacob models. Thus, the recent release of their previously recorded four-track EP brought amazing results.

They received the Best New Band award at the Tammies (Tucsons version of the Grammy Awards cute, huh?) and garnered rave reviews from AZ press. Then the news of Mostly Bears began to spread outside of the Grand Canyon State. First, they made the 20 Most Added List on CMJ radio. Just a few weeks later, they held the #118 spot on the top 200 chart. That is a rare feat for an unknown band from Tucson. Since then, radio stations across the country have added Mostly Bears to their regular rotation.

Mostly Bears has created their own sound, though they share similarities with bands like Mars Volta, Modest Mouse, and Wolfmother. Its progressive rock, with an artistic touch. Look out for Mostly Bears anticipated debut full-length album, The Ed Mitchell Clinic, in May of 2008.
