Morterra started out in Octoer of 2004 in the city of Burlington with Tim Ellis on drums, Alex Reinberges on bass, Viktor Vandenbosch and Dan McCarny on vocals, and Darryn Aitchison and Damien Kiperchuk on Guitar. In late February, Morterra recruited local promoter and guitarist Alex 'Aroc' Jones after Darryn Aitchison and Dan McCarny left.
With approximately ten shows to date, Morterra has received awesome reviews in their performances, developments and overall music.

Damien from Morterra here again...
To say the least, yesterday was a long day. We played the show at youthfest along with the Vatikan the same night at 1 in the morning. Youthfest was awesome. We had a great turn out and a lot of devoted fans buying T shirts and Demos and above all, Moshing and beating the fuck out of each other. Thank you all for coming out to Youthfest and supporting us.
The Vatikan, was a late show, but it was interesting none the less. A few of us caught some shut eye shortly before our set and in between the other bands' sets. You guys should definitely check out 68 Pronomags. These guys are really talented individuals.
Anyway, that's pretty much it for now. And just a heads up, there will be a new live track going up soon, so keep an eye out for that. Don't forget that we have T shirts and Demos for sale, and if you need one, just come to a show of ours or message us and we'll see what we can do about getting you one. Keep it heavy guys ..m/

Damien from Morterra here,
I would just like to thank all of our listeners and fans very sincerely. Since the post went up about Morterra putting up a new song on audiri, We have topped the chart for Death Metal, Thrash, and Metalcore, pretty much owning the top five under the Death Metal Category. We are in the top 10 for the overall metal category with Panacea and are back on the top of the charts with Panacea under the Death Metal and Thrash charts.
We would all like to thank you for taking the time to listen to these songs at the frequency that you have, and putting us on the top of the charts. If any of you are interested in hearing the songs you can find them here (www.audiri.com/morterra) and if that doesn't work, type in Morterra in the search box. Apoaclypse Seed is downloadable on that site and 2 other songs have been posted.
Let it be noted that the show on May 7th at the Underground is not happening at this moment. There have been some complications with the organization of the show and it has been post-poned. However, for all you Hamiltonian fans, Morterra is aiming to play in Hamilton hopefully within the month of May, keep updated on the myspace for the latest details. (Morterra's next show: YOUTHFEST may 6th- Burlington Central Park and VATKAN - Toronto May 6th)
Once again, thanks alot and Stay Heavy

MORTERRA WON!
Last nights show was intense, and there was some really REALLY good bands that played last night. The competition was high and hard as some of the best bands in the Halton area played last night's show.
Morterra pulled through and made the top three along with Cellar Door (Who I believe won Pearson) and Only Still (who won MM Robinson) Congratulations to both.
This means, that you can look forward to seeing Morterra at Youthfest on may the 6th (saturday). It's an all day event, pretty much like a festival or carnival. Boy's Night Out will be headlining that show, so it should be an awesome turn out.
Lastly, but certainly not least Morterra would like to thank everyone who came out in support of Morterra. You all know who you are and we are sincerely greatful for your support. We hope you all had fun at the show last night, because we certainly did.
Hope to see you all come out at Youthfest, it's going to be an awesome time\\m/
