Okay, here's the deal. I'm bored at work right now and I have nothing better to be doing, so I'm posting a blog. "But, what's it about?" you ask. I'll tell you what it's about. It's going to be about whatever I can think of off the top of my head...that's what. Like for instance: we haven't playe a show in forever...let alone a practice. Since Josh is in Indiana for a week or so, it's been hard to get anything together. We haven't written any new songs for the longest time either. (I'm going to try that later, because I know I'll still be bored after I type all of this out.) And, we haven't had a show in a bazillion years. What's happening to us? Well, for those of you that care...or even take the time to read this, (which means you care just a itty bitty bit) I, Ryan Thomas, am seizing to take immediate action. I've been working pretty hard at looking for places for us to play. It's somewhat hard to do when you're doing it all by yourself, and you don't really know where to go. I'm also working on material for a few new songs, even though the rest of the band doesn't know it yet. I want them to be perfect, so I'm keeping them secret until they're ready to be revieiled. I want this band to make it...and I want things to go far, and that's never going to happen with all of us sitting on our asses. So, leave it to me...and see what happens. Hopefully by the next time you read this, something good will have changed. Thanks for letting me waste your oh-so-precious time with my blurbering nonsense. (Is blurbering even a word?) Man...I need a life...and a better job.
Till next time...
Ryan T.

So..it's been awhile since I've posted a blog on here. But wait...nobody notices anyway! I mean, who even cares to read about anything on PureVolume? Everyone's searching for bands on MySpace Music now. Don't get me wrong, MySpace Music is awesome...and we have a page on there as well...but please...there has to be at least a few people out there who still enjoy the fine comforts of PureVolume? Sure, it's not as cool as MySpace Music...but what's so different about the two anyway? They both have media players that bands can post songs on; they both have places for bands to type out blogs; they both have a place for bands to post upcoming shows; they both have a place to show off band photos; and they both allow band's to give detailed information about themselves! But, in a way...that Purevolume is better than MySpace Music. I mean...how many songs can a band upload on MySpace music? I know! I Know! (Only 4!) Yes, you can only upload 4 songs onto a PureVolume account too....but, if you're willing to pay the extra 10 bucks or so, you can have a lot more than just 4 songs! And, with that extra money, your page gets better profile views because the search engine places "Pro" accounts ahead of those juicy standard accounts. MySpace Music doesn't even do that. Our band page comes behind a fake band, an unused account, and a camel jockey when we search. Now to me, that doesn't make much sense. In my opinion...PureVolume is the way to go when searching for bands...both great and hot and rising. So...for you true PureVolume users, you deserve something special....like a chance to tell us how much you like PureVolume better than MySpace Music! So, leave us a comment telling us why you do....or why you don't. It's up to you, because we'd like to hear what you have to say either way! Go get em!
Sincerely,
-Ryan T.-

May 22
Well folks, it's the Monday after Sunday, and the third day after Friday. The May 19th show was a show indeed. A lot went right, while a lot went...let's see....not-so-well. I'll give you the entire countdown of Friday night's activities.....
5:02pm
Ryan Thomas arrives at Josh's house to do a quick run-through of their set, and to then help pack everything up for the show. Soon after arriving, Ryan realizes that Mr. Hanson is nowhere in sight. Ryan soon finds out that Chris seems to forget that the time changes every few times during the year, and that Chris is slow to grow accustomed to it. Well, soon enough, Chris shows and begins to set up his stuff for a quick run-through.
5:35pm
The boys finish their run-through and begin to pack-up for the show. The cram all of there precious musical belongings (and a box of water and Mt. Dew) into the back of Josh's Aerostar. At 6:00 on the dot, they head over to the Lena Community Center.
6:02pm
The band pulls up to the Lena Community Center and recieves a warm welcome from the boys from Waddam's Hill. As they begin to carry their things into the building, a few familiar faces soon begin to arrive in the parking lot as well. The band's good friend Hurley pulls in with his baby blue Ford Taurus, and a few of their number one fans, Chelsea and Mer-Cat, also pull up in Chelsea's green "pimp-mobile" Pontiac Bonneville. After greeting the new-bees, everyone goes back to helping carry equipment and such into the building.
6:26pm
The band has most of their equipment set up. Ryan Thomas can be seen fiddling with his drum set, and recieving prank calls on his cell phone from Josh and Hurley. Ryan F. and Chris can be seen talking with people and setting up amps, guitars, and mics.
6:45pm
With a few more people showing up here and there, the band talks things over with Waddam's Hill, and the boys decide to hold out on playing as long as they can....to wait for more people to show up.
7:02pm
Mr. Rundall from Waddam's Hill informs Ryan Thomas that they can't wait much longer, and that More Than Useless hits the stage at 7:15 sharp. Ryan soon informs the rest of the band. At 7:09, the entire More Than Useless band is seen on stage, ready to play.
7:15pm (sharp)
The band calls out to the crowd announcing who they are and what not, and then begins to play their intro song. But, they soon find out that mics aren't loud enough and guitars might be a little too loud. Soon after fixing this problem, they restart their show.
7:19pm
Ryan Thomas and Ryan Fleharty play the into to "Ann", and keep playing....waiting for Chris to come in with his vocals. Well....needless to say, Chris never sings, and then to make matters worse, he turns to Ryan Thomas, see's the look of anger on his face, and then stops playing all together. This is a big no-no in the world of music entertainment. Well, after apologizing to the massive crowd of people, the boys start the song over....and play on.
7:43pm
The band finishes up their last song, and says goodbye to the oh-so-loyal crowd. Waddam's Hill turns on the background music, and More Than Useless begins to pick up their equipment. At this time, Chelsea can be seen congradulating Ryan Thomas on a "heck of a show" and Ryan Fleharty can be seen talking to everyone. Josh's little brother, Dan, can be seen trying to dismantle Ryan Thomas's drum set for him, but in utter confusion. He can seem to figure out where everything goes.
8:15
Waddam's Hill hits the stage...and then after them, The Skamunists. But, More Than Useless cuts out of the show before they hit the stage, and never sees The Skamunists perform. Instead, Ryan Thomas, Ryan Fleharty, Josh, Chris, Hurley, Chelsea, Mer-Cat, and Britani, all illegally pile into Josh's Aerostar and drive to the local Taco Bell to crave their late night hunger.
11:24pm
The band arrives back into town after their great adventure to Taco Bell. Live's were lost and memories were made, and the band can't wait until the next show....because then they can make another amazing "after-show" trip to Taco Bell!
And there ya'll have it! Friday night's Rock Show in a nutshell. It was grand-tacular!
