MODERABILIS ORCUS

The band was formed in 2003, when lead singer Pierre-Olivier Marchand asked 3 of his friends if they wanted to start learning to play music. Only Jean-Philippe Mailhot followed P-Os ideas, and as such, a powerful duo was formed. They started to compose their song as fast as they got their first guitars, the same year. They started writing such good heavy songs such as Evil Is Among Us, the first song the duo as ever writen. They tried to complete their lineup in 2004, but had an hard time to do so. At the beginning, both friends were playing guitar, and looking for a drummer, a bassist, and a lead singer. They formed three different bands under the respective name of Soul Keeper, Alliance to Extermination and The Insidious Gathering before they found the actual members of Moderabilis Orcus, in 2005. Alexandre Beaulieu (drum) was the first to join the duo, a few months later, Felix Caron (bass) and Vincent Desrosiers (keyboard) joined the band. They passed a few months jamming together and looking for the bands name. Their first name was Modus Operendy but they found out 10 active band had that name so they decided to change before the recordingg of the first album. Finally, drummer Alexandre found the name Moderabilis Orcus which means Mastering Death, because the band saw life as a constent death since there is always a part of us dying everyday and thats what makes us grow up. Its only during the summer of 2006 that P-O quit the band because he started to get bored of playing guitar.As such, Marc-Andre Baril replaced him as a guitarist during that time. Fortunatly for the band, P-O joined again, but this time as lead singer. Most songs were first written by Jean-Philippe Mailhot (lead guitar) but after the band grew up as a whole, every member started to put his grain of salt in the songs, this gave birth to songs such as Kill Life (guitar written by P-O and Jeep, lyrics by P-O, bass by Felix, drum by Beaulieu, Keyboard by Jeep and Felix). Up to now, the bands projects are to release their first album, The Reign Of Darkness, with these songs: Angels of Demise, You Chose Pain, I Did Not, Carcass, Dead, Fuck You All, Whispers Under A Darker Sun, Kill Life, The Reign of Darkness, Evil Is Among Us, The Philosopher and Forever Blind, and to make their first show, called: Moderabilis Orcus. The 2 following albums, Moderabilis Orcus and Incarnated Hell, even heavier than The Reign of Darkness, are also curently in progress and are to be released respectivly in 2010 and 2012.
