Biography
Minus Ned, pinned as "LA's Hottest New Band," has recently embarked on, and is continuing to promote their first nationwide tour this Fall.

Originally formed as a band paying homage to the jam bands of their generation and before, the evolution of Minus Ned's sound over the years has proven no genre is too big or small for the group to tackle. Go to a Minus Ned show and you won't be sure how to label them. Rock? Blues? Jazz? Funk? How about all of the above?

The band originated in 2002 in Woodbridge, CT, when songwriter Mike Martens and drummer Zach Guglin recorded a homemade demo with Ned. One day Ned... well let's just say Ned suddenly went on his way, and guitarist Mark Pinkert stepped in along with bassist Trevor Raffauf to fill the void. And without too much thinking about it, Minus Ned was born.

After several years apart, pumping their heads full of relatively useless knowledge and their stomachs full of beer at overly expensive universities, the boyz moved out to Los Angeles to pursue "the dream" during the summer of 2009. A year later, they kicked their sound (and visual appeal) up a notch when they were lucky enough to stumble upon vocalist Marissa DuBois, an Arizona native who has played on both MTV and the Vans Warped Tour. Minus Ned's single "III" was the first to feature Marissa.

Minus Ned has had a busy 2011, playing at the US Airways Center as the official post-game entertainment for the Phoenix Suns, opening up for two sold out Big Sam's Funky Nation shows at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, recording, mixing and mastering their new record "Are We Finally Fitting In?" and setting out on their first ever nationwide tour.
