MILLENCOLIN REV THEIR ENGINE ON NEW ALBUM MACHINE 15

Swedish Punk Rock Group Will Release Seventh Studio Album In May

Revered Swedish punk rock outfit Millencolin are back with Machine 15 - their first record in three years and the follow up to 2005's Kingwood. The album will be released on May 6th, through Epitaph Records.

With an impressive string of releases behind them, nearly two million records sold worldwide and having shared stages with the likes of Blink 182, the Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age, the Orebro based quartet of vocalist/bassist Nikola Sarcevic, guitarists Erik Ohlsson and Mathias Farm and drummer Fredrik Larzon show that they are on top of their game.

While upholding the classic Millencolin sound, they chose to diversify, evolve and progress on the new album. The explosive result is pop infused punk at its all-time best with driving beats, anthemic choruses and irresistible melodies that prove the band is back to kick ass and take names.

"I think it's great. It's different from what we've done before and we're stoked," guitarist Mathias Farm enthuses. A perfect example of this willingness to try new approaches is the first single "Detox" - "Ripe with harmony vocals, an infectious melody that gives nods to both the Beatles and the Beach Boys, and seven chord changes," Erik Ohlsson explains.

For Machine 15, Millencolin re-teamed with producer Lou Giordano (Sugar, Taking Back Sunday, Plain White T's), who previously worked with the band on 2003's Home From Home. "We wanted the kind of crisp sound that Lou is notorious for. Plus we have a great chemistry with him," guitarist Erik Ohlsson adds.

Mixed in Berlin by Michael Ilbert, who lent his skills to records by the likes of The Hives and Roxette, Machine 15 achieves the perfect blend of skillful and contagious music. "This time, especially, it feels like we have something extraordinary to present," vocalist Nikola Sarcevic adds.

Big plans for 2008!

Big plans for 2008!

The recording of the new seventh Millencolin album will begin november 1st!
We will be recording all the music and vocals at our own Sound Lab Studios in rebro, Sweden, together with a not yet official producer.
The mix will take place at a different location. Hopefully the album will be out early in the second quarter of 2008!

A new design of millencolin.com and more exciting stuff will also happen in 2008!

Two new festivals confirmed! in Spain 21st of september and the Snowboard Freestyle event in Zurich, Switzerland the 22nd.

Hey.
It's winter up here in Sweden, wierd kind of winter...
You might think we've just been slacking around because you haven't heard from us in a while but that's wrong.

Both Nikola (solo) and Mathias (Franky Lee) have released an album each.
You should really check them out. They have tourdates, some songs & other info up on their websites/myspace. Great stuff!

Erik is putting together his artwork-company Eckhouse Design, doing some art/photo jobs and planning the last filming details for the sequel to "...Hi8 Adventures" DVD.
No release date on the DVD yet though.

I've recorded some stuff with my hardcore/crust band Kvoteringen. A CD/LP is on the way (should be out late Feb) plus acouple of split 7" and stuff. We'll do some shows as well this year.

We also took over the http://www.purevolume.com/millencolin recently (Epitaph managed it before, thanks!) and we will also "pimp" that up and put up more/other songs and photos and stuff.

We will of course also start working on a new MILLENCOLIN album.
There are a lot of ideas and we're very exited about making a fucking great album.

We'll also do a few festival appearances during the summer before starting the recording process.

Our annual skateboarding contest MILLENCOLIN OPEN will 2007 celibrate its fifth year March 2 & 3! The contest will as usual take place at our skate park Brdcentralen in rebro, Sweden!
It's not only a two day skateboard contest, but the greatest weekend in rebro with parties, skate video premieres, live music from Franky Lee and a Swedish Skateboard Expo! Book your hotel room now cause this weekend will rip!

MILLENCOLIN MUSIC PRIZE 2006!

Millencolin Music Prize is recently founded by the city of rebro. Local politicians saw one of our shows a year ago and decided to create an award in our name since they think we are good ambassadors for our home town. The prize of 25 000 SEK and a trophy designed by Erik is handed out to a artist, group, club or somebody who's done something great for the music scene of rebro the past year.

The first winner of the annual prize are Andreas Skogmo and his crew District 19 who keeps putting up great punk and HC shows which really keeps the underground music scene strong in rebro.

Nikola also performed at the party! Good times!

So, there you go. Lots of stuff going on as you can see.
