MILKCOW MUSIC

Psychedelic / Progressive / Experimental

MILKCOW, not milkcow music, is the name and they are a psychedelic/progressive/experimental musical project that was started in Milltown, NJ by two friends named Gorbin Bernstien and Fitzgerald Mountainstormer during the winter of 2006. After the completion of one song, Water Soluble, the two musicians, Gorbin on guitar and Fitzgerald on keyboards, decided to name the project MilkCow with the intention of the project going no further than a creative outlet.
By this time Fitzgerald, or Fitzee, had moved to acoustic guitar and drums, Gorbin took the ambient electric guitar helm, keyboards and lyrics. As for the vocals we hired a girl off the street. All members contribute to the mix down and post production process equally; adding effects and additional instrumentation when needed. "It's not the notes themselves that matter, what really counts is the space between the notes and how that space carries the sound being created." says Gorbin. This philosophy is what defines MilkCow's approach to psychedelic/progressive music. "I grew tired of musicians claiming to be `progressive` and then they just rehashed old Rush or Yes riffs most of the time. I wanted to do something completely different and interesting yet understandable by everyone while not creating an egotistical wall; that is why I work with Fitzee. I want other like minded musicians to collaborate with who are genuine and talented. All the members have a strong creative background and come from solid deep roots musically so why not take advantage of that fact and deviate from the norm; since the norm today is boring as hell!"
As time moved on so did MilkCow; with each composition the music grew more involved and technical with out going over the top into the realm of the ridiculous. Each member has their own personal creative goals along with mutual respect of those goals. Bizarre Honduran Religious Rituals is the first album by these adventurers, lets hope it's not the last.
To be continued...
A new release and a polished sound, "Imbroglio" will give the listener a good idea of what MilkCow has in store for their fans and friends. A more involved sound and writing style along with new elements promises to be nothing less than spectacular. MilkCow welcomes you to a musical sound scape involving a tinge of demented story telling and melancholy progressions with melody and beauty; never underestimate them because you will be pleasantly surprised. One can only hope that such prowess will deliver something musical that will take you on a journey into the darkest depths of the mind and bring you out with a new appreciation for what can only be described as unrelenting originality.
