BRIEF HISTORY::
Formerly known as The Pristines, the band have gone through many different phases in their early stages. In August 2005, they formed as a glam-rock band with a youngster called Will Rees as rhythm guitarist and lead singer. However it didnt take long for the agony of over-playing their first written song (Road To Hell) to shine through, as they struggled to maintain a decent flow of momentum. The struggle produced the first change, in the form of a name and style .
Under their new name of The Chronics the band seemed to suit their new found ska-punk style and were writing bouncy upbeat tunes. They created several songs including 24/7, Everybody Hates Everyone, and So Damn Cool. However, after several discussions, Will left the band leaving the other members needing some driven inspiration. Two weeks later, the threesome formed Mild Peril.
The band started playing as Mild Peril in January 2006 with the foundation of Everybody Hates Everyone carried from The Chronics. Soon new inspiration and further experience followed when elder brother of Jack and Charlie, Ben joined the band.
MILD PERIL::
Many have described Mild Peril as being "fresh-sounded" and original, yet others say that they have qualities of an alternative punk-rock band. With their catchy riffs and innovative rhythms combined with a steely determination, who knows what lies ahead in the never-ending fight for success.
Some might say that having three brothers in a band would create an uphill struggle, but for Mild Peril it has created countless time and eased pressure in the continuous battle to make that breakthrough everybody craves for. For now then, Mild Peril continue to practise in their local studio as a four piece band - and with time on their side, things are looking promising.

Was good to see so many people in Wylam last night, we weren't expecting that many people - the event sold out twice over with over 200 people attending! Looked like everyone had a mortal time. Thanks for all the support we got when we went on, it was awesome, especially the mosh pittin'! Again, thanks to MLC and the club for letting us play. Unfortunately someone forgot to record it so there is no audio feedback but pictures will be available soon. Let us know what you thought of it on the forum.
Following yesterday, we won't be gigging for a while as we work on some more material of our own over the Summer as we try and build up a substantial set for next year as we try to expand across the North East and earn a strong line-up of shows in 2007. Also we are hoping to record our first EP soon with the help of The Futureheads and Field Music and mechandise may be available soon once we've tried and tested them - we'll only sell them if they're quality. Have a mental Summer.
Cheers To Everyone ::

Hey, the gig a week on Friday is NOT PRIVATE!! The event is to celebrate the 100th brithday of Wylam Tennis Club. Therefore, the priorities for tickets will go to club members. Unfortuately, the club has no alcohol license, so you will have to bring your own. There will be a BBQ starting at 5clock. Mild Peril will be on for 30-45mins starting at 7:30pm before Mid-Life Crisis perform a further 2 sets. There will probably be a disco or something aswel. It's open-air!! Tickets are 6 for over 18s and 3 for anyone else. But if you don't want to eat, they are half price. This isn't to be missed - how often do you go to a small open-air event? Go to the LIVE page for more details. Tickets are on sale now - only available UNTIL FRIDAY.

Sorry for the lack of news lately. We had to cancel the gig on the 29th due to other commitments but it wasn't organised properly anyway. We can confirm the gig on the 23rd June at the Wylam Tennis Club - more info. on that later. Also, we have taken the previous demos off of our site and MySpace because they have been improved since the recordings and we wouldn't want people to get the wrong impression. After speaking to Jaff (Futureheads) at the Wylam Institute Gig, we are arranging to go down to Field Music's studios in Sunderland and record our EP with the help of the man himself. There will be a break in the line-up with exams coming up etc. but we will try and record some new rough demos for you and keep you posted.
Cheers ::

The Wylam First School fund-raiser (our first gig) went down a success last night, and with a crowd of 150, 1000 worth of alcohol, we made a total profit of about 1000 for the school. Thanks to MLC for playing with us (they were awesome). Hopefully, videos and pictures should be available on the members page & our MySpace SOON. Also, we have set a provisional date of Monday 29 May for the DEEP COOKED MILD FISH SHOW featuring 'Deep Sausage' and 'Wisdom' - under 18s can come to this one. More info. on that soon though.
