Hey thanks for checking out some of my songs. I'm currently working on some more songs of this caliber and better as my ability to write thought provoking lyrics was removed from me for a while as I focused my thoughts only on mathematics, calculus, and use of mathematics in music.

Many Artist will think while they are mixing, "I Hate My Voice and I wish I could change it." well I tried changing it but it actually nearly caused me to lose it altogether. it sounded really cool for a while but it was practically useless because I was even worse at holding a tune and i definitely couldnt sing more than a verse without stopping and letting it get better. However, a couple of weeks ago I broke through one of many walls so now I can sing for a longer amount of time before tiring but still when im recording i get a little impatient and try to sing through something fast or not as good as i could if i did several takes but it is coming and I just finished recording The Way I Feel which will be on the These Steps album.

for me if you dont know me already music almost means life itself. i spend on average 2 or 3 hours a day actually playing an instrument such as guitar or piano (my main 2) but i actually spend all day writing choruses lyrics riffs and other stuff. for instance youll see me writing during my classes (no not homework :) ill be writing a song thats going through my head and then ill get home and forget the song for a couple of days and then ill be playing guitar and start singing and i realise that the song is the one i wrote the week before and ill go on this rampage looking for the lyrics. ill find them write some chords down and record it or not record it but you get the point. then tada i have a song. so ill play that song over and over for about a week and still during this time ill be writing more lyrics so ya. and you have no idea how many awsome verses i have that never got a good chorus and visa versa.
ya so i had a great lyrical breakthrough this summer i was able to start writing bridges (i know it sounds simple but i only call it a bridge if it sounds entirely different so ya that happened in september i think.
ok so my next breakthrough ive been playing guitar for 2 years well doesnt seem like a very long time but if i keep this up and progress and the same speed that i have for the last 2 years for the next 2 years i dont mean to brag (ok maybe a little) but ill be flat out amazing. for instance i just got an acoustic guitar two weeks ago ok. well lets go back a while first. the same week i made my vocal breakthrough i made a partial breakthrough on guitar. i was able to write my first riff. it was cheap but it had style and sounded good for the song. my riff style is very similar to mark tremonti's (formerly of creed now of alter bridge) and his riffs are amazingly hard to play until you really grasp the feel then they arent so bad but the cool part is they sound absolutly amazing. so ya after that one song i couldnt do much accept play his songs better.
so then the day i went shopping for my acoustic. i wrote a riff in the store that was nice with a bit of flatpicking and stuff pretty neat sound and i actually have the whole song written except the lyrics (backwards from normal for me usually lyrics come first then the music part) so ya then last tuesday i wrote an absolutly amazing riff very similar to what i was looking for in style. (it has a sort of dark and heavy edge while being amazingly melodic and rocky while also having some classical properties AND A BRIDGE!) now for lyrics to it heres the problem it is a 4 line stanza song but you cant sing the last line of the stanza so this will take some work but i will get it written and stuff.
ok now for the 3rd breakthrough and possibly the most important one though my guitarist friends would beg to differ. i can now play off key on a piano you have no idea how much i have been waiting for this to come. this is one of those things that you have to do sooner or later and only some riffs will work with it but i think i can write those now and no its not just blues that i can play off key cause that is technically just an oddnumbered progression (the m7 part) and therefore is in key and out depending n how you look at it but my riff(s) ( i can use plural cause i wrote 2 tonight) are both off key in parts of the songs and they come back and forth in a melodic manner that will capture the audiences ear in a fashion that will get them to think (what the heck is that?) no actually i think they both sound good. now one more thing to add to this breakthrough tonight i played a song that had like alot of different chords in it like 6 or 7 or 8 i actually lost track but the verses had one dominant and 5 others and the bridge was based off of a different dominant with the same riff and 2 different chords and the chorus was the 1st dominant and 3 chords in a returning patern ie 7dom 4 5 6 7dom still no lyrics on those songs either but im always thinking of some for new songs. expect another song up as soon as i get better from my cold. no recording without a voice :(

so i just finished recording These Steps but in actuality i didnt write it wait... no one wrote it. i made it up its not written down so technically i did not WRITE it but i did um make it up ya ok so the story is about a guy who has a friendship with a married girl but she wants to take it further and he says dont give up your promise dont run away from that. that is not a bad past. keep it. and then he says yes ive gone further than i should have but its not good so go back to your husband and dont leave the promise that you gave him because if you do then your self ehchem is not worth much because you should be for him (the one you are married to)
so ya that is how that came about. i really only spent about 3 minutes and 54 seconds composing this song. i still dont have the verse memorised. but ya so keepit real and be cool
