"…We were practicing with Audiosis near the end of 2004 and only Mike and I had arrived because the rest where on their way. I remember Mike showing me a new song he had written. At that time I did not think it would match what the band was doing and I remember telling him that we should do something else together to play the songs that we created that did not mesh with Audiosis. I think that was the beginning of Micro-Escopio... Pete Drown

The group started officially in 2005 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with this unique idea of indie-folk of two guitars with rejected songs of their previous group. Then they incorporated an old drum machine and a small midi keyboard rescued from an apparent eighties trip to the trash. From there they stepped into what they called their auto cataloged sound folk-tronic.

Ensemble that way, they played a few times, singing sentimental songs in a very Spanish indie vibe. They recorded a demo of one of those songs which was called "No Me Sigas" but they never recorded vocals and it ended as an instrumental. With that format they shared stage with puertorrican artists such as Los Nervios, Antártica, Mima y Audiosis.

At the end of 2005 and with the discovery of the Ableton application, the dynamic of the group change dramatically. They abandoned their old songs and both Pete and Mike submerged in a sea of programming in computers giving their music a more artificial sound (considering their analog beginnings) but still more elaborated. For the fall of 2006 they had created a MySpace account where they shared their four first songs and started promoting the band.

Around this same time, Pete Drown leaves the island and a few months later Mike Mellow also leaves, but they still keep writing and recording and by the spring of 2007 they put together all of the songs they had, the previous four and the new four and compiled them into their first EP which they titled "Melodías Microescópicas". As soon as it was posted online to download for free from their space, they started on the offensive of writing newer and more elaborated songs. This time a little more coordinated into what was going for the second EP. During the following months they work hard and by the end of November they release their second EP titled "Reverb is a natural thing…". This one includes songs that maintain the vibe of the first EP, but you can tell, still with such little time in between, a better management of the programming tools, a more elaborated sound but without losing the same playful ideas that have characterized the group in their short existence.

This album was also released as a free download to try and acquire more people to listen and get to know them in a market saturated with such an immense variety of music. Their plans don't show a lot of rest after the creation of their own netlabel to promote their music under "Automático Records".

Fast forward to the current time, one and a half year later and the group has released a brand new album again for free. A full length record titled "Songs For The Road Towards The End Of The World". This album includes 12 tracks created by Pete Drown and co-produced with his partner in crime Mike Mellow, who also did the cover work for the album. The first song they are pushing is "Ciento Once Grados"(or 111 Degrees) which has been receiving great feedback in the short time since its release.

In the horizon, we see a MAXI EP released in the fall by Mike Mellow and after that a compilation of some of their best tracks but they are already talking about new music and new sounds to combine, so it seems that we have a lot more music to expect from these guys. Also under talks are the first performance in a few years.
