Michael Junchaya currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife Kellye and his four wonderful children, Megan, Madison, Michael, and Mason. Michael was born in Lima Peru but was raised in Lodi, New Jersey, a place he holds dear to his heart. He has an older Brother Moe and a younger sister Patty. Besides songwriting and music Michael has interests in Swimming, Running, Chess, Film Production, and Reality TV.
Michael records all his songs at the "Brutally Honest Studios" ok his garage, but it sounds nice
Michael began his musical quest during High School. After begging his mom for a drum set he finally got the Ludwig Set of his dreams....Thanks to Mom (LaLa) , Dad (Cholo) and bro Moe. Drumming became almost natural to Michael as he listened to his ultimate idols John Bohnam and Carl Palmer over and over. Self taught on the drums (started playing on empty Iced Tea containers ) Michael was ready to get something started.
It was then that he joined up with Phil Cangialosi (Guitar) and the two began "Runway" the basement band with Zeppelin covers and a ton of originals consisting of Michael's Lyrics and Phil's powerful and emotional guitar licks. (Hidden Lovers, Why Would I leave You?, Don't Go, Do Not Enter, Greedy Lover, Runway, Living Off A Memory, I Love Her And She Loves Me, Calling Michelle, and more)
Later Michael joined with Footprints an Italian/Portuguese band to play covers for a local weekly paying gig. Footprints did hit the studio and recorded 4 songs, one being Michael's.
Michael went on his own and with the good advice of his mom graduated from College and then began to pursue his musical interests. Michael enrolled in the Institute of Audio Research at Greenwich Village NY an earned his degree in Audio Engineering and Production. During this time Michael began to collect audio equipment and began to form his personal studio.
Alone without a guitarist Michael got himself a guitar and began to learn on his own. After painful blisters became hardened callous scars, Michael had gotten himself a unique style with a steady muted percussive riff.
After meeting his wife Kellye and 4 kids later Michael became serious about his songwriting.
It is his goal, dream, and wish to hear one of his songs played on the Radio not necessarily by him but by anyone who sees his work worth being performed, recorded and heard by many.
Currently Michael has teamed up with Brianne Smith (Vocals), and Terrance Motley (Bass) from Albuquerque to record perform and expose the music that's ready to be heard. The Trio are known as Line-Storm. You can read more about Line-Storm on the Line-Storm page on this site.
