Meroin began in 1992 when, Mari (singer, songwriter, recorder, bear flute, keyboard, percussion and other non-conventional items ) wrote some originals and hooked up with Lee (songwriter, bass, acoustic and electric guitars) . John (songwriter, acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, accordion, bass, and other non-conventional items) and George (songwriter, drummer, percussion) joined in the mix which formed the band, Meroin.
Through their collaborative efforts, 16 originals were recorded and received airplay on WXRT, WCBR, WXAV (now the X) and a lead in for a popular AM talk show. They were joined by the added talents of various musicians at shows and on the recordings, to name a few, Chuck P (electric guitar and engineer), Bob (saxophone and horsey), Chuck D (electric guitar), Jamie (guitar and engineer) and of course Louise (graphic designer).
Since then, the duo Mari and John took over representing the band and doing covers for the past 12 years. They have been seen all over Chicago area and suburban venues.
