Powerpop / Rock / Pop Punk
Hailing from Queens, New York, Meridian Drive is an ambitious young band who exploded onto the scene with their unique blend of "emotionally driven pop-punk-powered indie rock" back in November of 2004. Two years later, Paul (vocals/bass), Chris (guitar/synth), Jarrett (guitar) and Carlo (drums) still continue to rock the local circuit, having shared the same stage with the likes of Hellogoodbye, Halifax, The Jonas Brothers, Houston Calls, This Providence, As Tall As Lions, Patent Pending, My American Heart, Envy on the Coast, Jet Lag Gemini, Driving East, Jenoah, Wired, and many more!
In 2006, the boys gained much attention after releasing their first 3 track demo "When The Streetlights Come Back On", produced by The Veronicas' Rob Guariglia. In 2007, they are now setting their sights on launching their first debut cd "Into The Starlight" (coming soon!) containing 6 anthems of infectious sing-along pop rock, while continuing their collaboration with Guariglia. Please check out the tracks above and we guarantee you'll be hooked!
In the passed year, Meridian Drive has been selected by MTV and Drive-Thru Records as one of the top 25 national unsigned record label contenders in MTVu's "Best Music On Campus" 2006 Contest as well as being chosen as a top 5 finalist out of hundreds of submissions by 95.5FM WPLJ, to open up for Bon Jovi at the 10,000 seat Mohegan Sun Arena. Meridian Drive can also be heard on various college radio stations and some local indie radio stations including Radio X (Long Island) and Indie Radio 104.7 (Los Angeles). Their tunes were also recently featured on MTVu's 2006 Woodie Awards.
