Re-formed in 2007, MEQQA has been turning heads and catching ears all over the Chicagoland area with intricate song forms and memorable choruses. Armed with an explosive stage presence MEQQA stands out of the crowd with it's professional quality and showmanship. In the studio MEQQA has worked with many notable industry names throughout it's history.

MEQQA teamed up with producer John Hiler (Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins, Slayer) in the summer of '07 to demo. The five piece then appeared on Chicago's favorite local music television show JBTV for an interview and live performance which has been re-aired several times.

A band's band, MEQQA possesses authentic talent. Drummer Sasha Horn broke into the Chicago metal/rock arena at the ripe age of 11. Making a name for himself in the scene, he was hand picked to record an album with the internationally-known band November's Doom in 1999. Johanna Mahmud brings a different musical experience to MEQQA's table. An accomplished trombonist and pianist, his background in jazz produces the perfect juxtapose to Sasha's progressive percussion. Guitarists Keith Carmack, Mike Derosa and bassist Jeremy Mumenthler joined to complete the group. Together, their writing produces some of the freshest, gripping music around.

After playing the Chicago scene (House of Blues, Double Door, Reggies Rock Club, Elbo Room etc.) the five piece went to JBTV Studios to record their newest album, "Map to Chrysalis".which was released early 2009.
