The Band Melomania is an alternative r&b and hip-hop group hailing from Baton Rouge. The members Korey "K-Ova" Larkins, Carl Scogland, and Jordan Bridges originally met in 2006 while attending Louisiana State University. Sara Frances Ross later joined in January 2009 after being recommended by band Manager Frank Duplechain. She also happens to attend LSU. Initially K-Ova and Jordan Bridges were teaming up to work on production for Jordan's solo project. The duo ran into Carl Scogland while playing in the residential hall that Jordan and Carl lived in. That night the trio wrote "This Time Around" which is still one of the most well known songs of the group. Although, school and work became more priority throughout the following months, Jordan and Carl continued to work on music. K-Ova became more involved in a hip-hop group known as 301 Da Squad. K-Ova did continue to keep in contact with Jordan and Carl as they wrote material, but eventually all the members fell out of contact with each other. Not until November 2008, the trio met back up to perform the song " Don't Worry" for a sorority event on campus. From there they decided to continue to write music and perform together with the new addition of Sara. As of January 2009, the band has played shows within the Baton Rouge and has hopes of expanding their talents to the world.
