The show at the Ariel centre went really well. Despite the fact that Paul KM had a temperature, and Oxo had to play the most alien drumkit, everything went pretty smoothly. Considering it was our second gig proper, we couldn't have expected anything better really. It was great to have some familiar faces there as well...on and off the stage. Just made us go for it more. Only one thing though. I've got to sort my bloody glasses out. They're a pain in the arse!
Anyway, today I have to go to the studio and re record some guitar for Thing G, which is a little bit of an anti-climax. But tonight we'll be celebrating a very successful week, with much beer, and beer. x

Last night we played a short set in front of some friends, family, and Dartington Students at the Foxhole Centre Theatre. It went really well, and there should be a video of the evening appearing on meekyrosie.com in the next couple of days.
Playing to a crowd after such a long break was definitely a strange and nervous experience, but it went down really well, as did the free beer and wine!
Tomorrow we are playing at Bristol Louisiana, and we are definitely not going to have the luxury of hours of setting up, and two days rehearsal, but the gig last night has a instilled a confidence in us we didn't have before.
Anyway, here's hoping that we see some of you at the next few gigs we play.

At last, we have started to rehearse in earnest. We have converted our living room in the studio/house into a rehearsal space, using only cardboard boxes, old copies of The Guardian, and acres of underlay. The other benefit of this, is that we have had to move our TV into the kitchen, where the reception is better. We now have more than one and a half channels!
V-LOGS AND EXCLUSIVE SONGS AT THE ARTISTS CLUB
We have started recording a series of wierd, and wonderful video logs, documenting us recording, rehearsing, fighting, and cleaning pubs. To see this, and to post your own video log back to us, visit http://bandnameartist.com/meekyrosie/ArtistVlogs/tabid/128/Default.aspx. At the moment the gig list is pretty sparse, but keep checking back over the next few weeks, and we should start adding a few more. We now have a page at http://www.myspace.com/meekyrosie.

Finished my vocals for Meeky Rosies debut album. Total anti-climax. Turn up, scream, wait three or four hours to scream a little more, and then don't need to.
The sunshine visited Noss yesterday, so we indulged ourselves with a trip on Paul KMs boat, and a honeycomb ice cream, and totally forgot the reason we went on the trip was to visit the pub. So just looked at ducks for a while, and said things like, "...they're like ducks, but wierd and big", and "ooh, look at the ducks". Got back to the studio, and heard on the radio that Britain now has bird flu.
Blackhole is sounding stunning. We added a few pianos and stroviols to it, and even without the vocals, it gave me a little shiver. It's totally different to anything else we do. Hopefully, this is the one that confuses the hell out of people.
Looking forward to our gigs. Also shit scared, but I reckon there would be something wrong if we were not. So come and watch us play, and see us look shit scared!

March 15
At last, we are set up to rehearse, a couple of local gigs are booked, and a few more are yet to be confirmed. The confirmed gigs are the South West Sound showcase, on 27th April at the Ariel Centre, Totnes, and Dartmouth Festival on the 12th May at 9pm. We will be confirming more dates, in April and beyond, very soon. These will be around the country.
Also have to mention the stunning job that Tim and Oxo did soundproofing our living room, (the crap TV is now in the kitchen, and seems to have better reception), armed only with a few cardboard boxes, hundreds of copies of The Guardian, and some sellotape. Bloody Genius.
