Mini Weekend Tour! (recap)
Hey what's up? So we just got back into NJ from our weekend on the road. We decided to post a recap of the weekend for all of you on myspace world to check out. So here it goes.
DAY 1:
We all met up and loaded the trailer and "The Dutchman" (van) for the upcoming shows around 5pm. We set sail around 7pm for the show in north west NJ, it only took about 45 min. to get there. We pulled up to the show to find our name up on the marque in in lights, it was pretty badass. We played in a movie theatre right in front of the screen, so now we've played a bowling alley, a pool hall, and now a movie theatre! It was rumored to be haunted as hellllllll in this theatre, i guess they were friendly because we played a decent set. For a Thursday night the draw wasn't bad, we rocked out with a band named "Spread Thin", check them out now! After the show we hit up the local bar where ST treated us to a round of Washington's finest brew. We called it a night and headed to my aunt and uncles house to spend the night.
DAY 2:
Everyone woke up around 9-9:30 to get all of our crap back in the van to drive to Altoona PA. We ate some eggs and english muffins provided by the lovely evan van note, mmmmmmmm. We drove for about 2 hours in the pouring rain on 80 which was insane! I guess they call it 80 because you need to drive 80mph or you will die. After about 2 hours the rain cleared and we got to check out the greatest view PA has to offer. We're not used to seeing such blue skies and tall houseless mountains, it was relaxing. After a few rest stops and goofing around we rolled up to the venue in Altoona. We met the coolest promoter on the face of this planet, his name is josh from 58th st. shows. CHECK THIS DUDES MYSPACE AND TELL HIM HOW AMAZING HE IS!!! (58th St. Shows) We met some awesome people and really cool bands that we hope to tour with in PA. We played to an awesome crowd and made some new friends as well. "Run Messenger Run" and "Salem City Lights" also had kick ass sets. We sold some merch and headed out to Josh's house for some great food and some insane dogs. After some guitar hero we said our final goodbyes....at least we thought they were our final goodbyes. Sooooooo our van is amazing but we have one huge problem with it, the gas gauge doesn't read sometimes. So we leave the house and we're on our way to the next state when we hear a puttering and some clinks and some sputters...we ran out of gas. The number one rule of touring is ALWAYS HAVE GAS!!!! we broke that rule hardcore and were stranded for a bit. Chris, Henry, and Ted walked back a few miles to get some gas to get the Dutchman sailing again. Mike, Flav, and myself stayed in the van with the flashers on for a good hour. The van decided to run out of gas realllllllllly close to the shoulder and everytime a truck passed it felt like our van was going to tip. The dudes return with the smallest gas tank ever created and we try to start the van....but the battery died!!!! AHHHHHHHHH haha. So we call up Mr. Awesome (aka Josh) and he gave us a jump and we were finally out of that mess. We drove from 3am til like 5 to get halfway to the next show. We all passed out around 5:30am
DAY 3:
We woke around noon and still had a good 2 hours to our show in Maryland. We made it there in one piece and on time so we got a chance to clean up and get all pretty for our photoshoot thanks to Colors Promotions. The turnout was awesome and the bands were really cool. We set up some merch and checked out what Maryland had to offer, we explored. Can't tell you what we did but if you really want to know just ask haha. We sold tons of merch and just had an overall awesome night. Some girl claims to own us now or something, don't mess with her. Check out "The Year That Was" madddddd chill guys that we hope to tour with this summer. We packed up our shizzle and we PEAACCCCCCCEDDDDDD!!! after eating Wendy's of course. We found a local Walmart and spent the night messing around. After a night of bugggggin out we all passed out again
