MATCHMAKER

Rock / Pop Punk / Punk

MatchMaker featuring vocalist/guitarist Chris Leone, guitarist/vocalist Will Jonhston, bassist/vocalist Chris Sparta, and drummer Jay Monchik- play their brand of rock n roll with the kind of energy and excitement normally found in teenagers on sugar rushes. Lights, Camera, Re-Action, their first album, brims with catchy, melodic choruses and anthemic singalongs. Its the kind of record that feels like it was written for the kids, by the kids. MatchMaker embody the organic spirit of pop punk, and you could easily envision this foursome gracing one of the stages at the perennial, must-see punk rock tour, The Warped Tour.

The members range in age from 22 to 27 years old and they have crafted a style of ebullient music that is eternally young at heart, free spirited, carefree, and fun. Things came together with lightning quickness for this new band. MatchMaker formed in the Fall of 2005 when Leone, Monchik and Sparta recruited Johnston. With the lineup complete, they recorded their debut, Lights, Camera, Re-Action, with Plinky Giglio, who has worked with those legends known as Styx, at the production helm. In just a few short but very productive months, MatchMaker have accomplished things that lesser bands have taken years to achieve. These guys are that dedicated to their band and to the music they make, and that makes them one of New Jerseys up and comers! Few bands are as hard working as MatchMaker, and it shows. Theyre quickly and loudly making a name for themselves.

Lights, Camera, Re-Action is built on anthemic, danceable songs that will stick in your brain for hours, days, weeks. Theyre literally unforgettable tunes. Songs like the peppy, sing-along Rules Of Attraction and the impassioned yet upbeat Questions In Letters are written straight from the heart, with the goal of having fans not only hear the music, but to feel it in their bones, as well.

Live is where MatchMaker truly blossoms, though. The band openly strives to create a genuine intimacy with their fans, and get them involved as much as possible. MatchMaker shows are truly participatory affairs, where the band and the crowd interact. The band have confirmed a slot on the upcoming New Jersey pop/punk/rock/metal extravaganza Bamboozle in early May, and have logged shows with Mest and Alister. And that is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg for MatchMaker, who seem destined to become a household name in their native New Jersey and beyond by the end of 06.

MatchMaker cull influence and inspiration from Elvis Costello, The Police, and Rick Springfield as easily as NoFX and Green Day. Their seamless fusion of guitar driven pop melodies and communal choruses will invite fans of My Chemical Romance, Goldfinger, Story Of The Year and The Used to check out Lights, Camera, Re-Action.
