Massive Addiction's Biography:
The inexistence of drugs, divorced parents, and other similar traumas left not much rock band-creation motivation in the lives of three friends from Tenerife. Soon boredom and the unexciting local scene gave them a reason to form the band called Massive Addiction in early 2004. Isaac (drumhead destructor) began bashing the kit for the first time, (he used to play the clarinet in the town band), Hugh and Sergio had been playing bass and guitar respectively for a few years so they picked up their roles and began jamming together. Shortly, their influences based on hard rock, punk and metal bands such as Nearvanah, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Metallica etc started to blend in an aggressive, hard but passionate form of unique rock & roll without becoming a stupid emo-shit-girly-sickening pop band, like most of the bands that are so popular these days. The inclusion of guitar hero Jonay was the last step before they started writing seriously.
One year later they recorded their first demo in a local radio station selling approximately the entire 150 copies that were edited in spite of the poor sound quality. It was that demo that got them to the semi-finals of Contracorriente, a national wide demo contest. In those semi-finals they had to travel to Seville where they played in front of a crowd of 200 people in March 2005. They sucked, but being their first serious gig it wasnt to bad. They had an awesome time.
After an extensive period of rehearsing and song-writing they gigged in The Box, a local pub in La Laguna, with bands The Social Scream and Panzer Gecko in a memorable rock & roll night. It was September 2006. A week after they appeared for the first time in a TV show, they were forced to mime. The performance was great (ha ha ha). Next month they repeated gig in the Box, this time next to Sinestesia and Die for a Moment. La casa Golosina became their usual club were they performed 6 times from September 2006 to May 2007,wich is quite a lot in the local scene of Tenerife, were Latin pop is the predominant form of music in live shows. After that, they've played twice with Impresentable a Spanish classic rock & roll band, first in a hi-school festival, and later in The Box.
Right now theyre recording their 2nd demo and are searching for gigs any where, any time. They remain unsigned and searching for a record deal in any country, preferably the UK where they would like to continue theyre musical career.
