Massacre by Fall began in middle year of 2008 with its former name "Our Last Date". The Band Began with only Rangga and Emmet sharing the ambition of beginning their own project band, Emmet then insisted that he was able to play bass. Then soon with the contacts of Emmet, Wan was introduced, who is talented in playing the guitars. At the beginning of the band project "Our Last Date", they were thinking of making a band with a female vocalist.

After days of searching, we found a potential female vocalist named Nyny, which back then was a sales person in a clothes shop. After meeting up and getting to know Nyny, she introduced the band to a friend of hers named Apiz, which was also talented in playing the guitar. So then there were 5 of them, but like any other bands, a band is not complete without a Drummer. After some time searching, Nyny introduced the band to a friend of hers named Kechik, who is the drummer for a metal band in Johor Baharu named "Dominator", due to his dedication to his band, Kechik was only able to be a sessionist for the band.

The search for a permanent drummer continued. Finally after weeks, a friend of ours named Pejal was introduced by Syakir, a friend from myspace. With the influences of Underoath, Pejal was interested to join the band as a drummer. After looking for a drummer, the process of creating songs began. After months of practice, their first demo with 3 songs entitled "I never thought that being with you could be this hard", "I'm invisible to you", and "are you real" was recorded.

After a couple of discussions, the band decided to change their name from "Our Last Date" to "Massacre by Fall", the aim is to prove to the people that were always against our type of music and to show the public that screamo music is suitable to ears of the public. The band went through a couple of difficulties when some of the band members were experiencing some personal problems and soon Nyny, Apiz and Pejal left the band. Soon after their separation, Wan introduced Bie to the band, who was only a customer in his shop and a friend to Wan , Bie is talented at the drums as well as the guitars, but he was interested in playing the drums for the band. After we found Bie, we needed another guitarist to fill in Apiz's position, and that is when the band found Amick, who was the former bassist for the band Organic Syndrome. Amick was also a former schoolmate of Wan and Emmet.
