The San Diego, California based Mas Macho was formed in 2000 by guitarist Dan Kuhlken and bassist Nat Evatt. Since then, the band has gone through several incarnations leading up to its current membership. All members of the band attend Scripps Ranch High School.
After taking guitar and bass lessons together for several years, Dan and Nat decided that they should expand their musical horizons and form a band. This is when things started to get interesting.

After a few informal jam sessions, Dan and Nat recruited drummer Nathan Goldman. Their playing soon led to some serious song writing. The trio maintained a regular practice schedule for several months and took advantage of an opportunity to record some of their earliest songs. Instrumentally, Mas Macho was successful, but no one in the band was completely satisfied with Dan and Nat's vocals. Optimistically, the band recorded instrumental versions of their songs in the hopes of someday finding a vocalist that measured up to their standards.

One day at school, Nat heard a loud, melodic voice coming from a car in the parking lot. The voice belonged to Brittney Stinner, who soon after became Mas Macho's lead vocalist.

The current Mas Macho line up made their debut at the Scripps Ranch High School Battle of the Bands, where they took first place, beating out six other bands. Mas Macho can currently be found entertaining the public throughout California.
