Ptolemy is back composing and writing with even more passion, beauty, and emotion than ever before.
Ptolemy's works and influences began in the early 90's alternative rock scene. Starting a band called Reality Club that would release two albums and help pave the local scene for underground, Christian music in Dallas. Ptolemy's style began to take shape and after receiving great reviews on Reality Club's works, Ptolemy began a self-titled solo project.
Having always longed for an opportunity to compose, Ptolemy began composing quartet pieces. These short pieces inspired Ptolemy to take on a much greater project that would become revolutionary.
In the late 90's, Ptolemy began his greatest work to date. The project took on a whole new style of music featuring traditional rock band instruments such as guitars, bass guitars, and a full-piece drum set, but also featured ensemble music that Ptolemy had composed for cello, flute, violin, piccolo, trumpet, French horn, and piano.
Ptolemy's first album, called Awaiting Your Return under the band name Steamboat, received countless good reviews. Many reviewers stating that the music was the most unique and well-written of the time. The songs, Delimma's Defeat and He Weeps played on numerous indie radio and college radio stations across the country.
Ptolemy's evolution continues as he ventures into the exotic, barrierless realm of electronica. This music will be unique to any former music produced. A new project is in the works for 2007/2008.
