Coming from the vast underground of the Cagayan de Oro City music scene, Maria Mystar is a collaboration of Cagayan de Oro's local indie bands. The band is composed of Franz (The Superflirts and Ecru La Dacapo), Rotsanjani (Felicity and Story of my Scab), Pancho (Story of my Scab), Tondaps (Ecru la Dacapo) and new comer, Jai. The band was formed way back in the early summer months of 2005. Despite of it's members' diversity in terms of musical backgrounds, like rock, emo, ambient, pop, indie, acoustic, experimental and alternative music, they are able to create their own brand of sound. Maria Mystar is not just a band but an idea, a concept and a story which represent subjective themes from the exhales of the band. The subject of the songs are open-ended which are free and open for your own interpretations. Together, they express their own style of eclectic music in contrast to the on-going trends.
