Marc Danzeisen is one of the elite Los Angeles music veterans that keeps busy in this nasty business. Not only has he worked consistantly for the last 20 something years, but makes a living in all areas from session work as a drummer/vocalist, to a movie composer, producer and songwriter.
Years before the likes of Jason Falkner and Jon Brion, Brendon Benson and many other top introverted "pop" tunesmiths, there was Marc, trying to get the word "POP" to be taken seriously in L.A. " If people would have listened to Jellyfish instead of Poison and Faster Pussycat, L.A. wouldn't have the illiteracy problems it has now." (These are not necessarily the views of purevolume and their employees, and is not to be taken as truth unless you really think there is a current pop problem in Los Angeles and the rest of the country)
Marc has been crafting clever pop songs and playing drums in several bands in the U.S. (Riverdogs, Gilby Clarke, Agent Orange, Little Caesar, blablabla) As a writer, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, etc. As with many artists who do everything by themselves, there comes a manic, sarcastic, moodyness in their music. Most of Marc's songs are campy, disfunctional, pretty much how he grew up.
After touring from '94 thru '95 with Gilby Clarke from G&R, Marc went into the studio and recorded a 10 song CD titled "POWERSLIDE". Marc recorded alone and put together a band with his closest friends. Chris Skane and Mark Comstock. The band had a huge buzz and a devoted following in L.A. and college radio.
His influences are really wide. cheap trick, elo, wings, posies, coalplay, stevie wonder, superchunk, queen, zeppelin. and many others.
Marc's songs are played on such shows as, The O.C., Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, and One tree hill, Just to name a few. And numerous movie trailers, and Indy films.

yo marc, i just sent you a huge comment and it got dumped, so i\'ll start over. fuck! i finally landed that gig doing a restaurant up in boston, so it means i\'ve got a job for awhile , and it also means i\'m going to want to head out there to lay down some more tunes, so i was wondering if you could look at your calender for about the end of april or early may and see what you have planned, i would like to bring forrest out to play on some of the cool new songs we have, you\'ll like him as will kelsey. also, did you say you had a digital 4 track sitting around, can i borrow it or buy it so we can demo into my computer and thus work out all the little things that bug me? let me know. also i am looking for a boss hyper fuzz pedal, do you know anyone that might want to pass one on, or where i can score one out there, i just like the pedal and lost mine somewhere in boston. i have an \'easykiller\' gig coming up this friday, and at rehersals the songs sounded suiper hot, so its fun to be playing the drums in a band, i know you have done it, but for me it was a goal i have acheived, yo stay in touch, yer bro, o.
