September 15
Wow! Well I don't even know where to begin with this one. For the last almost three years of my life; me and at least 5 or 6 of my really close friends at the time have been involved in this band and put in a lot of time and effort. But, now after all this has happened we are sadly going to have to end this chapter in our lives. I know it sounds trite and cliche to say it like that, but it's so true.
First off, here are the real reasons this is going down. Within the last year myself, tyler, brandon, jason, chris, and james (for a while) had been playing a whole whole lot and trying to balance it with a busy school, work, and personal schedule all at the same time. We all got pretty good managing our time when we had to take care of everything, but within the last few months we have all gotten a little bogged down. Jason, Brandon and Chris have all started brand new jobs that have potential for great futures for them. There's no reason for either of them to continue doing something as a fun hobby like this when they have the sky to reach. As for James he moved back to California where he will be going to school. And finally for Tyler and myself we both are going to school fulltime, but are going to continue playing music here in Columbia.
It's so weird to even think that this is going to be over, because it has been such a huge part in my life, as well as everyone else's, for a long time. It has taught me so much about myself and others, and helped shape the person that I am and who I want to be. And we are all glad that it is ending like this, and not on bad terms. We all still talk and we all are still good friends with one another, which is a tough thing for a lot of bands to do.
Us five will be playing our final and farewell show at the New Brookland Tavern, where it all began for us, on Saturday, September 29th, 2007 for PirateFest4 with lots of local bands we have become good friends with. Should seriously be an amazing great time!
As for all our recordings we are still in the process of recording our final EP, "Burning Free" and it should be all available for download by Christmas time. At PirateFest we still have a ton of shirts and cds, and we'll be selling it for very cheap, if not then you might get lucky and get some free stuff!
In closing this blog I don't think I can stress enough how many people I owe for everything they've ever done, or any support they've given. To my fellow bandmates: I love you guys so so much and I can't think you enough for the times we've had together. Good luck with everything. To my friends: thank you for the constant support you have given me in going to our shows, and even buying stuff from us. And finally to the fans: I can' thank you enough for actually liking us and coming to our shows, talking to us, supporting us, and knowing the words to our stupid songs.
Seriously thank you! I will never forget all of this.

hello everyone.
it's a beautiful day outside and a brand new year and we're very excited about it. last year was a great year for us and we hope that this year brings us even more fun and excitement.
after careful consideration and deliberation we have found it necessary to change our band name. we are no longer MALADROIT MAFIA but we are now MALADROIT.
this name change will take place gradually because we still do have a lot of merchandise under the old band name, and have many contacts that know us as MALADROIT MAFIA. so we figured we'd let everyone know what is happening. and even more importantly we will be laying low except for the shows on our page and writing new amazing music.
we can't say much but it will be unexpectedly different but nontheless amazing. in some terms you can say it's a mix of RxBandits, Minus the Bear, and Radiohead.
so there won't be as many pop punk songs and now something different for us. but trust us we will still be playing the best of the old songs.
so keep your eyes and ears open for the next few months!
take care everyone,
jeffrey

Great to see someone knows how to play ska still, but i
would like it if you brought out your trumpets more in
songs like skankin in the pit, so you would sound more
like your song: Bus scene
