Our new song, "In Pieces," is online now at whatismae.com! Head over to the site to make a donation and download the new song. The song is the August song of our "12 SONGS. 12 MONTHS. 1 GOAL. * New Song "The Fight Song (Crash and Burn)" Online Now!
After a short delay, we are so happy to bring you the July song...in August! This month's song is called "The Fight Song (Crash and Burn)." The past week has been a whirlwind of the most inspiring events we can remember. We have just arrived back in the United States after having the privilege of traveling to Indonesia to play a show in Bandung. It was an honor to be the first international act to perform in the country since the bombings that occurred the previous week. The experience was mesmerizing and words can't describe the energy we felt. Despite tragedy, the people of Indonesia exuded a warmth and appreciation that was immeasurable, and it is impossible to not be moved by the interaction. Community and the ideal of global unity is continually challenged by cowardly acts like the one that happened in Jakarta so recently, yet the human spirit remains tenacious and undeterred, and continually motivated to become the rule, not the exception. Nothing is more eye opening than a humbling experience, such as the one we experienced, which reminds us of our strength and vulnerability simultaneously. We are blessed that we can use our songs to fight against terrorism, whatever reasoning it claims, whatever form it may take. Music is a paralyzing medium that transcends and can overcome any barriers that happen to fall onto our path. We are grateful to our fans and friends in Indonesia for giving us a time that we won't soon forget.

August will find us holed up in the studio continuously working on new music and preparing for the (a)fternoon tour which begins in September! The "Destination: Beautiful" Five Year Anniversary DVD is a choose your own adventure film, with 3 hours of content, including band interviews, song commentary, tour footage, special never before seen live performances, and much more - packaged inside a DVD sleeve printed on recycled cardboard. This DVD will be very limited in quantity and will only be exclusively available online at whatismae.com and at Mae shows. Each order comes with an exclusive download of a new version of "Embers and Envelopes," recorded and mixed at Earthsound Studios during the fall of 2008.
