Members: Luke Jackson (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards) Joe Barton (Vocals, Guitars,)
In testament to the old adage 'two heads are better than one', Jackson Barton's developing song craft relies chiefly on their combined creative efforts, rather than their own individual merits; a driving force that was only realized the hard way. Both starting their initial toe dips into music at similar ages and approaches with the lackluster classical tuition and infinitely more appealing blasts of their parent's record collections, Luke and Joe both recall early memories of being enthralled by what they heard. By the time Joe Barton had picked up a bass, plugged it in, and played until his fingers were buried in blisters, he knew that music was going to play a large role in his life, whether it remained a hobby or not. Meanwhile, Luke Jackson had been exposed to the burly temptation of the rock and roll guitar heroes, and had begun to develop an appreciation for honest, quality songwriting. When the two first intermingled musically, they had no go between; Luke hadn't bothered to learn any rock standards, and Joe didn't have a clue what to play underneath screaming blues licks, so they began to write for themselves. Their first efforts were inconsistent; there was a blemishing reluctance to let riffs, chord progressions and lyrics be tampered with by the other party, even if was for the better. After facing the fact that their music would be much more accessible if the stubborn demands for tedious instrumentals were forgotten and collaborative songwriting was pushed, Jackson Barton set out to write their debut album. At this moment in time they are still working on it, so in the meantime please be patient and have a listen to the previous efforts available to stream.
