Lucid Fly is a powerful female-fronted alternative/progressive/rock band, that combines distinctive melodies with intricate songwriting and unique odd time grooves. Co-founders Nikki Layne and Doug Mecca joined forces in Orlando, FL, and with the release of their debut EP entitled "Adapting to Gravity" in early 2005, Lucid Fly exploded into the Orlando music scene, surfacing above others in a seemingly endless pool of local music. There they built a wide spectrum fan base with their unforgettable live performances, as well as, showcasing their ability to approach the music dualistically yet remain creative and original.

Lucid Fly's story has always been about constant evolution...and recently Layne and Mecca decided to relocate to Los Angeles, CA where they met up with bassist Go Nakabayashi and drummer Aaron Ficca. With an undeniable chemistry and a wide range of influences, the band began writing new material. Their songwriting is stronger than ever, and they somehow stay mindful of the present but grounded in their roots. The band released their newest EP "The Escape Stage" on March 17, 2009. Stay tuned for all the latest news and updates.

The word is spreading, and their mission has just begun...
