Its a weird disguise. Like a beard of bees. Lousy Robot

If you want to find Lousy Robot, just take a look into the creepy, post-punk world of Indie-Pop. A four-piece rock group from Albuquerque, Lousy Robot are well known for creating catchy, noisy songs aimed at the cynical but somehow resonating with the hopeful. Songs about the not-so-everyday lives we deal with everyday.

Their critically acclaimed 2005 release, The Strange and True Story of Your Life, was an enigmatic, narcotic effort influenced and produced by the complicated hand of Grammy Nominee John Dufilho (The Deathray Davies, Apples in Stereo). Always prolific, Lousy Robot and Dufilho returned to Salim Nourallah's Pleasantry Lane Studio in October, 2005, to record yet another collection of introspective pop songs. With special guests ranging from Cory Watson (Black Tie Dynasty) to John Lefler (Dashboard Confessional) to Johnny Lloyd Rollins (Himself), this latest recording promises to be an aggressive and confident companion to Lousy Robots live performances.

"Quintessentially pop and heavy on sing-along melodies"
Michael Henningsen - Local I-Q 8/27/06

"A roller coaster ride through upbeat, danceable music makes way for a few mid-tempo pop gems"
Lisa Town - Delusions of Adequacy - 10/17/06

"The band lets its inside voice tap out a beat that could've come from '60s Top 40, almost like Phil Spector is running the show with Ray Davies producing. "
Dan Mayfield - Albuquerque Journal/Venue Magazine - 7/28/06

"fused together like a puzzle that tumbles into alignment right out of the box."
Laura Marrich - Music Editor - The Weekly Alibi - 7/27 - 8/2/06

The disc is pop heaven and the happiest music ever about feeling so bad.
--Wig Wam Bam #64

It could make even the most bitter souls (i.e. music critics) embrace pop music wholeheartedly.
The Albuquerque Journal

If New Wave is back, this isn't far behind.
Dallas Music Guide - www.dallasmusicgauide.com- Feb 2005

Quirky, mid-tempo tunes flushed out by keyboards and catchy hooks. Stylistically conjures up Frank Black and Blondie, but with less caffeine and a whole lot more self-deprecation.
Weekly Alibi - April 2005
