October 27
Great music in October, everyone! This year in music has been a bit dull for my taste with the exception of a few (The National, Silversun Pickups, and a few others). As trendy as these bands are, some great records just came out: Thrice "Alchemy Index: Vol. 1 and 2," Coheed and Cambria "No World for Tomorrow," Jimmy Eat World "Chase this Light," and my favorite album this year (that I thought wouldn't be released until next year) - Radiohead "In Rainbow." I know a few other decent albums came out this month as well, so enjoy this good rush of sound! We're pretty excited for you all to hear our new music as well.
Love,

Check out what an online translator did to a German review of our album:
"The volume from California, which was called idea fixed one before, has now
with "draws Ocean" its debut album published. In one hour gives
three-quarter it here ten to Pop/Rock Songs, which develop a special
tendency particularly by the Piano employment and the fragile singing. This
tendency is also not destroyed in the process of the album by somewhat
simpler and immediately in-usual Songs like the great "Dreams" or "Just
Glide". Completely in the opposite, despite the very poppigen melodies also
these songs insert themselves marvelously into the overall view. Draws Ocean
stand out particularly by the skillful employment of the pianos of the mass
similar volume, because they in such a way lend the necessary depth and them
to their songs create it to become boring over the entire play time never.
Result: The debut that volume promises already once good, because the album
offers both an intensive tendency and mad melodies, whereby in addition, the
in-usual pieces are superficial never."
We still don't know what it's supposed to say, but we hope you enjoy the mad-libness!
Love,
LOST OCEAN

Hello everyone, I just wanted to send some PureVolume-exclusive love. I value PV fans tremendously because, while myspace kills for quick communication, there's something deeper here to me. Know that anytime there is a chance for us to put up new music we will be putting MORE of it up on here (ie: you can preview our whole album on here). You are special, it's true.
Love,
Jeff/LO

Music that prides itself in independence from an artistically cramping major label marries music that's often accused of demanding accessibility before art?
I got to thinking about this after talking with a friend who noticed an odd phenomenon happening at his college: "Indie Pop" was the new popular sub-genre. I asked if he knew of any examples of this; The Fray and Death Cab came to mind. I think of LOST OCEAN as in the same genre as these bands, so the concept had my full attention. This sounds like an oxymoron, but is it? Artists want people to see, hear, and live with their art. The idea of an artist pursuing a career who does not seek to be popular is without a doubt an oxymoron. Your thoughts?
Love, Jeff

It taps into controversial dimensions that will interest some and bore others senseless.

Hello everyone,
I want the world to know how much we've been enjoying these '07 tours. It's such an honor to play for you all. Meeting people who are passionate about new music has been killer. We've also been blessed with people who love to love bands like us when we're hungry and cold. Thank you all for showing up and showing love.
See you soon,
Jeff/LO
